Are you lying?

How many times in one day does someone ask you, "How are you?" For the sake of time and being real the majority of us respond with "good" or "fine."

I have always been bothered by this fact. When I was about 14 I remember having a conversation with my dad about responding to others about how you really are instead of lying. He responded something to the effect of you always need to be positive. True, but we are not being real and we are lying most of the time when we answer this question.

However, I have resolved to change my personal response due to finishing CJ Mahaney's book, Living the Cross Centered Life: Keeping the Gospel the Main Thing. This book has lead me to keep the cross of Christ the main thing in my life.

For the last two weeks I have been slowly trying to respond with "better than I deserve."

Thus far God has allowed a response from several people and the gospel of Christ to be spread.

To understand this perspective read Rom 6:23 and Rom 3:21-26 then go get this book and read it as well.
