Why I Blog?

As many of you know my family and I have recently moved to McKinney, TX from Las Vegas, NV. I started at High Pointe Church of Christ late July first of August as the new youth minister. I am blessed and thankful that God has called us here to worship and serve with the body of Christ at High Pointe. Jessica wrote yesterday about what has happened over the last several weeks. If you hop over to her blog you can get all the ends and out and trust me our lives are extremely blessed, but things have been crazy (crazy good and crazy, like having no A/C)

For those of you that may be new to reading my blog or at least I hope there are one or two people who will begin to read my humble ramblings I wanted to take a brief moment to remind myself and others about the value of blogging in my life. Here are a few reasons why I blog.

  • It allows me to get the thoughts in my head processed a little more clearly.
  • As a minister I want to be able to connect with the teens, parents, and church body in another format that may be encouraging to you.
  • I am not the best at correcting grammatical skills, but that would not improve if I do not write often and try to improve my writing abilities.
  • There are a couple of resources that I can get free books as long as I post an honest review about the book. (There will be several coming over the next week. I have four that I need to write a review on and I have one on the way in the mail.)
  • Possibly one day I will write a book and this is a good platform to share those future ideas.
  • When writing curriculum for class or preaching I always try to gather my thoughts in an outline and manuscript. I have noticed when I am not blogging or writing as often this thoughts are hard to get down on paper.
  • I thank God for using a few blog post in the past to encourage others. May God continue to use this little space on the web for His glory.
Thanks for reading. I look forward to getting back in the groove soon.
