Day 3 Prompt from over at Ralph Waldo Emerson and other authors.
It is easy in the world to live after the world’s opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude. - Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self-Reliance
The world is powered by passionate people, powerful ideas, and fearless action. What’s one strong belief you possess that isn’t shared by your closest friends or family? What inspires this belief, and what have you done to actively live it?
This has been difficult to process. I guess my beliefs are similar to my friends and family and possibly need to explore this question more, but for the sake of not getting behind on these prompts here goes.
One of the strongest beliefs I have that many friends and family share, but few live out, is to live an active lifestyle. Meaning get up early or stay up late and do what it takes to be active and live a healthy lifestyle. I believe taking care of the one body God gave me can be the greatest gift to those around me, including my family (Jessica and Kennedie), my co workers, and the youth that I work with. About 3 years ago I realized I was getting older, which led me to consider what actions I can take to get in shape and live an active lifestyle. At that point I started doing P90X with Jessica and preparing for my first triathlon. Many people believe this, but few live it out. Living an active lifestyle is contagious and I desire to encourage and inspire others to take care of the one body God gave them. Therefore, in about 16 weeks I will participate in my third triathlon and extending the distance to an Olympic event.
