Relationship with Your Parents

Reflect briefly about your holiday experience. Not the gifts you received or the tremendous amount of food you ate.

Instead, think for a moment about your interactions with your parents. Primarily I am addressing adult children and his or her respective parents.

What were the premise of your conversations? Did you argue with one another? How did you handle the holiday planning?

One of our parents responsibility is to help launch children into healthy adults. Now this could easily turn towards defining "healthy." Instead of digressing let me stay focused and address healthy adulthood later.

As we grow and mature into healthy adults I believe our conversations and lifestyle with our parents should be more about friendship and having healthy adult conversation with one another.

Easy concept, but are you having a real relationship with your parents now that you are an adult? Or are you still pretending as if you are the child or possibly the baby in the high chair?

So...what does the interactions with your parents say about you?
