Sacrificing Children as Idols

Have you ever realized in Jeremiah 7:31 that people took their children to be burned before other gods as idol worship? I read this passage and other passages and think about how crazy one must be to take their child to the altar to be sacrificed for their god. Are parents doing the same today? Are there parents who place their children themselves as THE idol? Have we allowed the things kids do and participate in become the idol worship? We read the Bible and think about how crazy people must have been to do certain things, but have we become crazy ourselves? We could be the crazy one with idols, but we are not looking at our idols with a Kingdom lens.
