Book on Addiction

I have recently ordered a few books for therapy and counseling that I am ready to read and get a better understanding and a different perspective on a few topics. The first book is 7 Tools to Beat Addiction by Stanton Peele.
There is two different modes of thinking about an addiction. One is the disease or medical model and the other is a behavior model. I have seen the brain scans and understand the brain scan images of what alcohol and drugs can do to your brain. Then on the other hand I am not convinced that alcohol is a "family disease." Have you ever stop to think long enough about how this disease would adversely affect a German family.

I will be posting my thoughts about this book in the weeks to come. Please continue to come back and share your insights and thoughts about addiction. If you are struggling with an addiction there is hope. I have witnessed countless people who have a drive and a determination to change their personal story for the future generations.
