Living a Life that Matters in 2009

Sunday we explored Philippians 1 as we try to understand how we can live a life that matters in 2009. Paul was in chains, but had great joy that the message of Christ was being spread because of his imprisonment. He gave the charge to love more and speak the word of God courageously and without fear.

We live a life full of abundance, but recently we have realized our abundance can be lost. Despite the current and future global economy we should be living a life of zeal for His Kingdom because people are searching and reaching for something more meaningful. I have read several stories in the last few months how individuals have made choices to end their lives. The stories I have read, according to the world standards should be some of the most happy people in the world. However, once again in the midst of a recession another rich man has taken his life.

German billonaire and VW empire builder did not have much to live for when his assets tanked. What are you living for? Money in and of its self is not wrong (Ecclesiastes 5:18-20), but we should be hard pressed to realize money does not solve any problems.

May living a life that matters reflect an overflow of Christ love and courageousloy leading others to God's redemptive plan.
