Does the Lord's Supper ever become an empty ritual for you?

My entire life I have heard people quote scripture about the "why" of the Lord's Supper, but from my perspective it seems that the "why" of the Lord's Supper does not connect with people on adeeper level.

We need to continue to remember Christ death, but telling people every week that the first Christians took this meal and because Christ instituted leaves me feeling like we don't understand the deeper meaning of the Lord's Supper.

Until one connects the cognitive aspect of the Lord's Supper to the deeper meaning of Christ love for you and me, then next weeks Lords Supper might be an empty ritual, again.
