Recently, I have been coming home to a complete disaster.
Cooper, our 5 and half year old chocolate lab, has decided he likes to get in our trash a few times a week. Now keep in mind he is a very good dog, well trained, and we have not had any major problems with him ever.
There is nothing more irritating right now than coming home for lunch only to find out that there are leftovers, yesterday's coffee grinds, cracked egg shells, and numerous other kitchen items from our trash can spread out all over the kitchen floor.
My response has not been appropriate on a few occasions.
What is the mess really about? Why is Cooper getting in the trash? How has his mess exposed my mess?
Why has my response been inappropriate to Cooper?
Is there possibly a deeper and internal mess that I am not dealing with and this is a catalyst for a real mess to exposed?
These are questions that I have been asking myself and asking God to expose any "real mess" that I need to deal with.
Life gets messy. How we handle the mess is what matters.
Allow God to come in and clean the mess. He sent Jesus Christ to get messy once and for all on the cross, will you allow that mess to cover your mess?
