No One Taught Me

"How do I set goals no one has ever taught me?"

Ok that's fair, possibly no one taught you how to set goals, but that does not get you out of doing it for the first time in 2010.

In fact, I am not sure if anyone has specifically ever taught me how to set goals either. Perhaps setting goals is something that is trail and error.

Let's start in small increments because if you think about planning out your goals for all of 2010 and this is your first time to ever set goals then odds are you will fail.

Think of the next 30, 60, 90 days or possibly January, February, and March.

First step:

Answer this question within each time frame;

"What would be different about your life in 30 days?"

Simple, right.

This is a proven ingredient to have a successful start on your goals or as some may say you are starting with the end in mind.

Next step:

Grab a piece of paper and pen and write down words or small phrases that come to mind within the context of 30, 60, and 90 days. This will reflect the things that are inside of you and will allow you to narrow your focus on the things that matter most.

Last step:

In a brief narrative form write out your story and how it will unfold in the next 30, 60, 90 days. Our possibly think about it in terms of visualization. Then proceed to write down your vision.

This should help get you started with a general foundation of how to set goals. This is the beginning of setting goals. The premise of all successful goals is the power of writing your goals down as a catalyst to change.

Remember keep it simple for right now and experience success with completing one goal to motivate you to complete another one.
