Help Runaway Teens

Did you know that 40% of runaway kids turn to prostitution after just two days of living on the streets? Parents file runaway reports for less than 8% of teens now living in homeless youth shelters! The biggest fear of most teens is that they will be abandoned and no one will care to show love for their needs. However, there are several organizations throughout the United States who are facing the challenge head on. There are two I am very familiar with, one is Dry Bones in Denver, CO and the other is Street Teens here in Las Vegas.

Street Teens is a local non-profit organization who provides a safe place for teens who are living on the streets. All of the teens have a different story for the reason they are on the streets or living with family or friends, commonly known as "couch surfing." Couch surfing is going from one house to another house because the teen does not have a safe place to call home. The teens are able to come to "The Sanctuary" at Street Teens and come for four hours and eat a fresh meal, wash their clothes, take a shower, get pantry items, get clothes, hygiene products, find out about jobs, get on the Internet to connect with their friends and apply for jobs. This is a portion of what Street Teens does every night all year long. This is a great place to serve those who have been abandoned who need someone to show a little love.

During the month of June you can visit www.informify.com  and play a daily news quiz to raise money for Street Teens. Each correct answer is .50$ that will allow Street Teens to pay for the daily operations of providing a safe place. The challenge is to play the game and then at the end of the month give sacrificially by multiplying by 10 or 100 how many correct answers you get. For example if I get 15 answers correct that is merely $7.50. Could you double $7.50? Could you x 10 to = $75?
