Chasing What Matters

I have been preparing for a camp talk for the last several weeks based on Chasing What Matters. The inspiration came early this year from this particular commercial with Chase Bank. The commercial starts with a woman's voice stating, "Your right we need a new TV."

We live in a world filled with lies telling us we need to consume more of this and that in order to have what matters. We have all consumed our fair share of "stuff" and we have houses filled with the hot trends of yesterday, which now are the passing fades of tomorrow. What really mattes? If you were a young camper again what would you want some old fart to tell you? How do you portray a message that Christ is the only thing that matters when we (Christians) often live a life chasing the new flat screen HDTV?
