His Glory

"The whole earth is full of his glory." Isaiah 6:3 Have you stopped lately and looked around at the glory of the Lord? I am in Portland, OR this week with a few teens from church and we are on a journey to become a more developed disciple. The northwest territory of the United States is inspiring. Saturday when we arrived we went to Multnomah Falls and relaxed in the glory of the Lord with the other tourist. Did the other people know they were in the presence of the glory of the Lord? In Isaiah 6, Isaiah saw the Lord and realized he was not worthy enough to be in the Lord's presence. He said, "My lips are unclean." The angel of the Lord placed a burning coal on his lips to purify him and give him a commission to go out into the land of Israel. He is given a charge in verse 10 to help them "see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed."

We are in the presence of the Lord everyday and forget to often to be in awe of His glory. We have a charge today and everyday to go and proclaim the Word of the Lord that others may see, hear, understand, so that they can be healed. Read Isaiah 6 right now and realize his glory and the task to love others and turn them towards a loving and redeeming God. The reality is we are in the glory of the Lord everyday but forget and we are to point others towards the glory of the Lord, but we forget. Lord, purify my lips like Isaiah and give me strength to point towards your glory. Amen.
