Tar Heels Church Plant

North Carolina basketball has had a place close to my heart since I was a little kid on the hardwood. Now Chapel Hill is even closer to my heart.

I received a mass e-mail from Kairos and wanted to share with you because church planting and missional leadership is at the heart of Christ teaching and I desire to be within the heart of Christ. (Jesus would have played basketball for the Tar Heels, right?)

Dear supporter of new churches in new places for new people,

On September 7, at 5:00pm, the Chapel Hill, NC team will have their first public Sunday assembly. They’ve been in NC for several months and have worked very hard. Matt & Felicia Carter are the lead church planting couple. They, along with their three children, are starting a new church. WE WANT TO PRAY FOR THEM. For the next few days, we at Kairos Church Planting Support are asking you to ask our Father to be present in special ways. Ask for his Spirit to be strong in the Carters and in this new church. Ask him, please, to draw lost people in Chapel Hill and Carrboro, NC to Jesus Christ. Holy Father, you are holy and you have set each one of us apart for important, enduring things. The Carters and their coworkers are doing your will in Chapel Hill, NC – not a place known for its love for you. We ask you to do special things through them in that place and among those people. Please bring lost people into a restored and regenrating relationship with you. We ask in Jesus’ name, AMEN Amos Allen
