Yesterday was my first time to play Monopoly in a very long time. The day before that I played chess for the first time in at least a year. I enjoy playing board games and playing card games, but I traditionally play the games I know or currently have in the closest.
Here are three quick lessons I have learned about board games in the last few days:
- It is easy to get taken advantage of when you don't know all the rules.
- You can make the rules up as you go if you are not sure what you are doing.
- If everyone plays by the same rules than people are lead to being honest.
This sounds like what has happened to our financial system. Except we are not all playing by the same rules and this keeps the broken system in place and leads us to lesson #1 again.
