Wins or Losses

John Gottman of the Gottman Institute can predict if a couple will stay divorced or married with 91 percent accuracy. How would you feel being recorded with a live camera and someone(John Gottman) asking you to get in an argument with your spouse? This activity is how Gottman has determined if a marriage will last. There are contributing factors he describes in couples with a healthy relationship versus a couple who use an argument (or fight) to get ahead in the 'game' of marriage.

Marriage for some has become a battle ground were points are counted and 'Wins' and 'Losses' are tallied at the end of every day. The reality in viewing marriage as a game is that this only leads to a loss eventually. Marriage is about friendship and building a friendship to last a lifetime. What are you doing with your friend? We (Jessica and I) have decided to play tennis together. Neither one of us have ever played tennis. Which equals to neither one of us are good at tennis. In the game of tennis there are wins and losses, but not marriage.
